## Summary

NHS Black Country Integrated Care Board has completed the contract award process for the "Support to the Own Bed Instead Service" under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. With the contract beginning on 1st April 2024, this health services procurement aimed at providing community-based care in the UKG3 region (West Midlands) is valued at £16,420. The procurement was managed via a direct award process without prior publication of a call for competition, focusing on services designed to provide alternatives to intermediate care admission, support early discharges, and prevent hospital admissions through integrated community health and social care responses.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in health and social care services, particularly those that can offer comprehensive, multi-disciplinary community support. The integrated nature of the service and its emphasis on reablement and independence make it ideal for organisations with experience in coordinated health and social care delivery. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) like Agewell, the awarded supplier, who have the capacity to provide diverse domiciliary care, including nursing, physiotherapy, and social care support, are well-suited to compete in such tenders, facilitating business growth through partnership with the NHS.
