## Summary

This procurement process involves Velindre University NHS Trust, represented by NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, seeking to engage a Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) for the new Velindre Cancer Centre (nVCC) project. The procurement falls under the industry category of Project Management Consultancy Services (CPV 72224000) and is classified as a service. The key stakeholders are based in Cardiff, UK (Region UKL22). The tender, conducted through an open competitive recruitment process, identified Sustainable Infrastructure Management as the most suitable candidate. The procurement method used was limited, justified by the technical reasons associated with the niche and specialist nature of the role. The contract, valued at GBP 258,400, was signed on 25th February 2025, following a ten-calendar-day standstill period that concluded on 24th February 2024.

Businesses specialising in project management consultancy services, especially those with expertise in overseeing large-scale healthcare infrastructure projects, stand to gain significantly from this tender. The nVCC project's high profile and the critical role of the SRO offer substantial opportunities for showcasing capabilities in delivering quality, timely, and cost-effective solutions. Companies with a proven track record in complex project delivery within the healthcare sector or similar large-scale infrastructure projects would be particularly well-suited to compete for such tenders in the future. This engagement reflects both the high standards required by the Trust and the potential for businesses to establish themselves as key players in the specialised market of healthcare infrastructure management.
