The tender, classified under the environmental services industry (CPV 90700000), involves the maintenance and operation of a groundwater treatment plant and associated environmental monitoring at Pride Park, Derby. This procurement is essential to meet compliance with Environmental Agency Discharge Permit requirements and prevent polluted water from reaching the River Derwent. The contract, valued at GBP 2,670,000, was awarded to Alpheus Environmental Ltd and is scheduled to commence on 23rd June 2025 with a duration of ten years.

This tender presents significant business opportunities, especially for businesses specialising in environmental services, water purification operations, and pollution control. Companies experienced in handling large-scale environmental compliance and operations may find this contract aligns well with their expertise, given the technical and regulatory requisites involved. The long-term nature of the contract ensures business stability and growth, allowing successful bidders to engage in continuous operations at Pride Park.
