## Summary

Bedford Borough Council has initiated a tender process for the procurement titled "The Supply of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure and Associated Services 2025-2040." This procurement falls under the "Energy and related services" industry category and is currently in the tender stage. The Council seeks a single Charge Point Operator to provide a turnkey solution, including supply, installation, connection, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of a network of electric vehicle charge points across Bedford Borough. The total contract value is £56,643,544, with a submission deadline of 21 March 2025. The project involves the installation of a minimum of 512 new electric vehicle sockets, with specific requirements detailed in the tender document.

This tender represents significant business growth opportunities, particularly for companies specialising in electric vehicle infrastructure and related services. Businesses with expertise in managing large-scale infrastructure projects and those capable of providing comprehensive charging solutions will be well-suited to compete. The project emphasises a match and extension of the Council's £1.01 million subsidy with private funding, enhancing potential ROI for the winning bidder. By participating, businesses can establish a strong presence in the rapidly growing EV infrastructure sector, benefiting both from public investment and expanding market demand for sustainable transport solutions.

## Notice

The purpose of this ITT is to appoint a single Charge Point Operator, to deliver Bedford Borough Council's requirements for a "full turnkey" solution to supply, install, connect, commission, operate and maintain a network of charge points on behalf of the Council across the Borough. We expect the winning bidder to deliver a minimum of 512 additional new Electric Vehicle "sockets" (as defined in the Contract at Schedule 4), of which: * A minimum of 256 sockets to be located at our required sites as set out in Portfolios 1, 2 and 3 (see section 2.2.3 in this document for further information), with our PS1.01m subsidy to support installations. * Further to this we would like the operator to match and extend our investment through private funding with a minimum additional 256 sockets, at our required sites or at additional sites (to be agreed with the Council). * The total minimum delivery of at least 512 additional new Electric Vehicle "sockets." To this end, Bedford Borough Council (BBC) is primarily seeking for its required 256 sockets at the stated locations, a charging solution involving 7kw - 22kw power charge points across the Borough-wide network, to benefit residents without off street parking.
