## Summary

The procurement process for the contract titled "UKRI-4347 Compressed Air, Nitrogen Generators, Carbon Towers and Associated Services" is facilitated by UK Research & Innovation, located in Swindon, United Kingdom. This tender, primarily in the services category, is aimed at the repair and maintenance of machinery. The contract was initially set in the tender stage and subsequently progressed to the award stage, but was closed without an award due to necessary material changes in the specification. The locations involved include Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Didcot, STFC Chilbolton Observatory in SO20 6BJ, and The Cosener’s House in Abingdon. The procurement method was conducted via an open procedure, and the estimated total value was noted at £2,060,000 excluding VAT over a potential four-year term. Originally, the tender deadline was on 28th March 2025, with the contract period expected to start on 28th April 2025.

This procurement offers a significant opportunity for businesses, especially those specialising in industrial maintenance and machinery repair, to secure a substantial long-term contract with a potential value exceeding £2 million. It presents growth potential for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) capable of providing comprehensive maintenance services and those with specialised knowledge in compressed air and nitrogen generator systems. Companies with a robust in-house team and the technical capability to handle a diverse range of assets and machinery types could achieve significant business expansion through this contract.
