## Summary

The University of Chester has completed the procurement process for a contract titled "Gas Maintenance Services and Pressure Systems." This procurement falls under the services category, specifically targeting gas appliance maintenance services, and is set in the UK. The process was executed through a 2 Stage Restricted Tender Procedure, adhering to The Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and subsequent amendments following the EU exit. Initially announced in February 2025, the contract commenced in August 2025 with a three-year term, including potential extensions of up to two additional years. The contract's total potential value ranges between £800,000 and £1.2 million, though actual values may vary based on specific needs. The University sought tenders to maintain gas-fired boilers, water heaters, and pressurisation units across various sites, such as Chester, Warrington, and Birkenhead, with Kimpton Ltd selected as the supplier following the award phase in July 2025.

This procurement offers significant opportunities for businesses in the gas maintenance sector, especially those with capabilities in both planned and reactive maintenance services. Companies specialising in servicing gas appliances, with a strong understanding of UK public procurement regulations, would find this tender a fruitful avenue for growth. Firms with expertise in providing high-quality, cost-effective solutions are particularly well-positioned to compete, as the evaluation criteria gave importance to pricing and quality. With a substantial contract value and services being "needs specific," there is potential for long-term business relationships and revenue stability for the suppliers capable of meeting the expectations and requirements laid out by the University of Chester.
