## Summary

The public procurement process for the "Principal Contractor Pier Gardens" project was initiated by North East Lincolnshire Borough Council. This work sought to appoint a principal contractor for public realm improvement works in Cleethorpes, specifically focusing on Pier Gardens. The industry category is construction, and the main procurement category is works, with a location tagged to region UKE13. Originally active, the tendering phase was expected to conclude by 12th May 2025. However, the project was subsequently cancelled, and no awards were successful. The procurement was conducted through an open procedure, making it accessible to a wide range of suppliers.

The tender provided significant potential for business growth in the construction sector, particularly for businesses with expertise in civil engineering, general project management, and health and safety management. Companies equipped to manage large-scale projects with complex deliverables would have found this opportunity ideal. Although the process is currently discontinued, similar tenders offer avenues for establishments with the necessary resources and experience to become key players in delivering ambitious civic projects, contributing to municipal masterplans and urban development goals.
