## Summary

The Chiltern Railway Company Limited is inviting tenders for the supply of bulk diesel in accordance with EN 590 specifications to its depots across England. This procurement process, currently in the tender stage, has an estimated contract value of £15,000,000 and will cover the supply needs of Stourbridge Junction Depot, Aylesbury Depot, Wembley, and Banbury Maintenance Depot. The competitive procedure with negotiation requires electronic or written submissions by 25 March 2025, with the contract expected to start on 1 January 2026. This agreement will be valid for a minimum of 2.5 years with an option to extend for an additional 2 years at Chiltern Railway’s discretion. Prospective suppliers must comply with Chiltern's terms and conditions without substitutes to EN590 and must have appropriate insurances in place.

This tender offers significant business growth opportunities to suppliers capable of providing large volumes of diesel fuel, approximately 18,300,000 litres per annum, to multiple locations across England. Businesses with existing refineries or fuel terminals in the UK, comprehensive geographical coverage, and established partnerships with haulage companies stand to benefit. The requirements include maintaining sufficient insurance, stock traceability and origin documentation, installing and managing telemetry technology for stock levels, and adhering strictly to EN590 standards. This contract is well-suited for suppliers with robust logistics, substantial supply and delivery capabilities, and the ability to support Chiltern Railways’ operational needs continuously.
