## Summary

The NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board has managed the contracting process for a dementia support service located in East Lancashire. This project falls under the Health services industry category, specifically focusing on service provision. The procurement was conducted under the direct award route C as part of the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) without prior publication of a call for competition. While the initial tender process intended to award a new contract, it was subsequently cancelled and then approached again via a PSR intention to award notice. The final contract, valued at approximately £125,162, has yet to be formalised, with representations from providers needing to be submitted by 11th March 2025. The procurement stage has advanced to the award stage, with the standstill period beginning after the latest publication date of this notice, 26th February 2025. Key decisions relating to the contract award were made in early 2025, with the contracting service period set to begin on 1st April 2025 and end on 31st March 2027.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in health services, particularly those experienced in service provision within the public sector. Companies that can demonstrate high standards in key criteria such as Quality and Innovation, Value, Integration, and Social Value may find this a fitting opportunity for growth. However, potential competitors should note that the contract is a direct award to an existing provider, Homewise Society, which meets the PSR's stipulated requirements. Businesses prepared to engage with the NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board under the PSR regulations could benefit from demonstrating capacity to meet the essential criteria and addressing issues like reducing health inequalities and enhancing access. This focus can help them align with NHS priorities and make a compelling case for future contracts.
