## Summary

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership-Procurement Services, under the auspices of Velindre University NHS Trust, has concluded the tender process and awarded contracts for the provision of Insulin Pumps, Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGM), associated diabetes consumables, and related technology. This national framework intends to support healthcare needs across the NHS Wales health boards, including Aneurin Bevan, Betsi Cadwaladr, Cardiff & Vale, and others. Conducted under an open procurement process, the contract became active on 13th April 2026 and is expected to continue until April 2029, with a possible extension to 2030. The procurement falls within the medical equipment category and focuses on the region of the United Kingdom, specifically Wales.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses specializing in medical technology and diabetes care products. Companies like MEDTRONIC LTD, ABBOTT DIABETES CARE, and several others have already been awarded contracts, indicating a competitive environment for both large enterprises and SMEs. The framework allows for pricing proposals and flexible purchasing options, presenting potential for suppliers to secure business directly with individual health boards. Suppliers with innovations in diabetes technology and consumables, alongside strong capabilities in logistics and service delivery, are well-positioned to benefit from the ongoing demand within this sector, bolstered by the National Health Service's commitment to leveraging superior technology solutions for improved patient care.
