## Summary

The procurement process involves an extension of the NP5065/17 National Primary Care Clinician Database (NPCCD), managed by NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) on behalf of NHS Scotland Health Boards. This crucial IT services contract focuses on consulting, software development, internet, and support within the Healthcare sector to manage contractor data, compliant with Scottish Government regulations. Situated in Edinburgh, UK, the procurement stage is at the award phase, with a contract extension slated for 12 months, ending on 20th July 2026. The contract, initially awarded under an NSS Software Development framework following a mini competition, has legal and intellectual property constraints, ensuring continued service and development managed by Sword IT Solutions, signed as the supplier.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the IT services industry to expand their operations through collaboration with governmental organisations. Companies, particularly those with expertise in healthcare-related software and compliance systems, are well-positioned to compete for such procurement processes. The role of NSS as the buying organisation ensures continuity and valued expertise in handling complex healthcare data systems. The tender is executed without a call for competition due to technical and economic reasons, offering Sword IT Solutions, a large company, the chance to enhance and implant additional modules before the contract concludes, ultimately supporting growth and fostering innovation within the healthcare IT domain.
