## Summary

NHS Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board (ICB) has concluded the procurement process for community-based elective care services within the region. The contract focuses on health and social work services, specifically within community health settings, and spans diverse medical specialties under the services category. The process has reached the contract award stage, with services commencing on 1st July 2025 and potentially extending until 31st March 2026. This procurement, adhering to the Provider Selection Regime Regulations 2023, employed a direct award process, bypassing some traditional public procurement protocols. The contracting process is valued at approximately £12.45 million for the nine-month duration, bringing strategic healthcare improvements to the community.

This tender opens up significant business opportunities for entities specialising in community health services and those aiming to strengthen local healthcare collaborations. The contract facilitates growth for organisations that emphasise integration, innovation, and patient-centric care within their operations. Businesses with a proven record in delivering elective healthcare services at competitive rates and with high patient satisfaction are ideally positioned to benefit. Additionally, companies structured as Community Interest Companies might find unique alignment given the emphasis on social value creation, like reinvesting back into local healthcare initiatives. The procurement framework supports the development of partnerships geared towards enhancing clinical governance and reducing healthcare inequalities.
