## Summary

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is currently in the planning stage for a procurement process titled "Property & Price Rental Data Renewal." This contract, within the industry category of data services, refers to collecting and publishing statistical data pertinent to real estate activities across the United Kingdom. Expressions of interest are to be submitted by 31st March 2025, with the procurement opportunity scheduled to begin on 31st July 2025 and end on 30th July 2028. The ONS seeks data inputs for both the Index of Services (iOS) and the Services Producer Price Index (SPPI), specifically targeting the real estate sector, including the letting of non-dwelling properties and property rentals, sales, and acquisitions.

This tender presents a substantial opportunity for businesses specialising in data collection and analysis, particularly those with expertise in real estate markets. SMEs and Voluntary and Community Sector Enterprises (VCSEs) are explicitly encouraged to apply, making it an attractive prospect for smaller businesses looking to expand their portfolio within public sector contracts. Companies capable of delivering accurate and comprehensive real estate data will find this an excellent growth opportunity, with potential collaborations with key governmental bodies such as Her Majesty's Treasury and the Bank of England. The total contract value is £48,000, offering significant revenue potential for the selected supplier.

## Notice

The Office for National Statistics is the UK's largest independent producer of official statistics and is the recognised NSI for the UK. The Authority is also responsible for collecting and publishing statistics related to the economy, population and society at national, regional and local levels. The Authority also conducts the census in England and Wales every ten years. The Office for National Statistics is seeking expressions of interest (EoI) from interested parties in a potential future procurement opportunity, as detailed below. Interested parties should register an EoI by 17:00 31st March 2025. Please submit your EoI to CommercialTeam@ons.gov.uk. Requirements for Index of Services (iOS) The monthly Index of Services (iOS) provides a timely indicator of growth in the output of the services industries and is the largest contributor to the output approach to the measurement of gross domestic product (GDP), accounting for 79.3% of UK GDP in 2015. We require data that will feed into the real estate activities sector where we are specifically looking for data to cover letting of own property other than dwellings. We publish data on real estate across three industries. * Buying, selling, renting, and operating of own or leased real estate * Imputed Rent * Real estate activities on a fee or contract basis. This data requirement for non-residential data would be one of two data feeds for "Buying, selling, renting, and operating of own or leased real estate (excluding imputed rent)" and is required to cover a calendar month. Requirements for Services Producer Price Index (SPPI) The quarterly SPPI provides an indicator of inflation for the service sector of the UK by measuring services producer prices. The primary use of the SPPI is as a deflator in the UK National Accounts; it is also an important inflationary measure to inform monetary policy and to account for inflation in long-term service procurement contracts. As such, users of SPPI include Her Majesty's Treasury and the Bank of England, as well as other government departments and private businesses. We require data that will feed into the calculation of price indices related to real estate activities where we are specifically looking for data on the value of property rentals/lettings and sales/acquisitions. We publish data on real estate activities across three industries: * Renting and operating of own or leased real estate * Real estate activities on a fee or contract basis * Buying and selling of own real estate This data requirement is primarily for non-residential (commercial) property data to feed into "Renting and operating of own or leased real estate" and "Real estate activities on a fee or contract basis". Availability of residential data, as well as data related to "Buying and selling of own real estate" will be desirable. Data is required to cover a calendar month.
