## Summary

The Suffolk County Council is overseeing the procurement process for the "Warm Homes Suffolk Energy Efficiency and Renewables Retrofit Framework," focusing on enhancing energy efficiency and implementing renewable solutions across various domestic and commercial properties in Suffolk. This comprehensive framework, part of the Council's commitment to achieving net-zero carbon objectives, encompasses several industry categories, including solar installation and energy management services. Key stakeholders, such as social landlords and local authorities, are involved, providing a framework compliant route for project execution. The procurement process has reached the award stage as of 15 May 2026, with contracts expected to be active from 12 January 2026 to 11 January 2030. This process employs an open method, allowing fair competition and the involvement of multiple suppliers to handle a variety of projects, each tailored to adhere to current government grant schemes and climate partnerships.

This tender presents substantial growth opportunities for businesses within the construction and energy sectors, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), due to the significant investment outlined (over £180 million for works and services). Companies involved in solar installations, insulation, and heating systems are particularly well-positioned to benefit. Additionally, firms offering energy management and consultancy services can leverage the framework's demand for innovative solutions. By participating, businesses can not only secure lucrative contracts but also partner with public authorities to drive sustainable development and contribute to Suffolk's long-term energy efficiency goals. This initiative underlines the potential for businesses to expand their footprint in the public sector market and align with green initiatives prioritised by local governments.
