## Summary

The procurement process organised by North Northamptonshire Council involves the provision of cremator servicing and maintenance at Warren Hill Crematorium in Kettering. Initially active from February 2026, the tender sought quotations (RFQ) for servicing two gas cremators and related equipment. A reassessment led to the cancellation of this procurement on 28th April 2026, indicating internal reasons and a reconsideration of operational and commercial requirements. As part of the service, businesses were advised to show interest by 30th March 2026, via open competition. They were required to submit expressions exclusively through email, as electronic submissions were not allowed.

This tender presented business growth opportunities for companies specialising in cremation services, maintenance, or supply of emissions-related chemicals. Suitable for SMEs, the contract offered service continuity until 2028 with potential extensions. The location specified was Kettering, UK, offering service providers within proximity the advantage of reduced travel commitments and timely response capabilities. Organisations with expertise in quality and price optimisation were encouraged, with award criteria favouring competitive pricing (70%) and service quality (30%). Such ventures can enhance reliability, efficiency, and innovation in local government operations, underscoring the importance of effective public-sector partnerships.
