## Summary

The Common Services Agency, also known as NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), has successfully completed a tender process for the supply of Single Use Thermometer Probe Covers exclusively for the Cardinal Health Genius Tympanic Thermometer. Operating under its National Procurement division, NSS has secured a contract covering NHS Scotland Health Boards and other related entities. This procurement, classified under the industry category "Goods" specifically for thermometers (CPV: 38412000), was conducted through an award procedure without prior publication due to the specialized nature of the products. The contract, effective as of 18th March 2025, spans 24 months with an option for a 12-month extension and has a total value of £246,000. Delivery will be made to the National Distribution Centre in Larkhall, UKM region.

This procurement project offers substantial growth opportunities for businesses, particularly those involved in the manufacturing and supply of medical devices and disposable medical products. Companies that specialize in healthcare supplies and have capabilities to provide high-precision, disposable items will find this tender particularly relevant. By securing contracts with a major public health entity like NHS National Services Scotland, businesses can enhance their market presence and establish long-term partnerships within the public healthcare sector. The stringent requirements and the single-source nature of the contract underscore the importance of offering innovative and reliable solutions tailored to the specialised needs of the healthcare industry.
