## Summary

ScotRail Trains Limited is initiating a market engagement exercise for the repainting and minor refurbishment of its Class 380 Fleet, which includes 38 units (totaling 130 vehicles). This process is currently at the planning stage, with the intention to gather information from suppliers to inform future procurement decisions, potentially leading to a tender. The procurement falls under the services category, specifically reconditioning services of rolling stock, and is located in the UKM region of the United Kingdom. Interested suppliers are invited to complete the Market Engagement Questionnaire available on ScotRail’s e-sourcing portal, with a key date for further communication on 3 November 2025. This is not a pre-qualification or tender exercise, but an opportunity to inform ScotRail's decision-making process.

This procurement offers significant opportunities for businesses specialising in railway maintenance and refurbishment. Companies with expertise in rolling stock reconditioning, possessing appropriate facilities like paint booths capable of accommodating rail vehicles, and experience in adhering to railway industry standards including ISO 9001 and EN 15085, will be well-suited to compete. The scope includes extensive repainting, application of decals and branding, surface treatment, minor repairs, and general interior work. Suppliers demonstrating capability in delivering high-quality services will contribute to the enhanced maintenance and presentation of ScotRail’s fleet, fostering business growth within the railway services sector.
