## Summary

NHS Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board has commissioned a Cataract YAG Service under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. This procurement process follows a direct award procedure without prior publication, culminating in a signed contract effective from 1st July 2024 until 31st March 2025. The service will be provided in Coventry and Warwickshire and involves ophthalmologist services. The procurement method employed is limited, with a specific rationale based on the repetition of existing services complying with strict regulatory conditions.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses in the health services sector, particularly those specializing in ophthalmology. Community Health and Eyecare Limited, identified as the successful provider, will offer consultant-led YAG Laser Capsulotomy services. Companies with expertise in delivering high-quality, patient-focused eye care services in compliance with NICE guidelines and national practice standards are well-suited for participation in such procurements. The contract, with payments made on a cost per case basis, allows for scalability and strengthens the provider's footprint in regional health services.
