## Summary

Westminster City Council has recently concluded the award stage of a significant procurement process titled "Women’s Supported Accommodation", specifically aimed at providing support services in the health and social work sector. This procurement involves multiple lots targeting areas like mental health, domestic abuse, and refuge services for women and children in the UK, with a focus on areas such as London. The contracts, set to commence on 1st September 2026, will run until 31st August 2029, with the possibility of a two-year extension, thereby potentially lasting until 2031. The procurement utilised an open procedure under a 'lightTouch' regime, and the latest contracts are contingent upon Cabinet Member approval and the expiry of the Call-in period by 7th July 2026. Notably, the awards are currently pending and encompass significant engagement with well-recognised suppliers including St Mungos Community Housing Association and The Riverside Group Limited.

This tender opens significant avenues for business growth in the health and social service sector, particularly for organisations specialising in accommodation and support services for vulnerable women. With categories oriented towards mental health and domestic violence refuge services, large scale organisations with a background in providing comprehensive support systems and community housing can leverage this opportunity. As there is a clear emphasis on delivering high-quality, recovery-focused, and accommodation-based services across Westminster, businesses committed to social value and responsible procurement practices will find this procurement especially conducive to their growth ambitions. These contracts also invite participation from VCSEs and SMEs, underscoring the potential for diverse business involvement and cross-collaboration to support comprehensive social services in the area.
