## Summary

The public procurement process for Bangor University focuses on the measured term contract for reactive maintenance services and minor works across its estate, with a contract value of approximately £100,000 excluding VAT. The contract spans three key lots: electrical maintenance, mechanical installations, and building and grounds maintenance, engaging suppliers such as Owen & Palmer Ltd and JRS Mechanical Services Ltd. This open procedure, covered by Welsh devolved regulations and the GPA, seeks services within the UK, specifically regions UKL12, UKL11, and UKL23. With the award phase completed in March 2026, the contracts have a renewal option up to 2032 and are governed by the JCT Measured Term Contract (2024), ensuring compliance with all applicable building regulations and standards.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for SMEs, especially those proficient in reactive maintenance, electrical and mechanical services, and building fabric restoration. Businesses with expertise in managing multi-disciplinary projects, possessing relevant accreditations, or offering sustainability and social value efforts are well-suited to compete. Sub-contracting possibilities further allow for diversified business strategies. The procurement requirements highlight a focus on quality service delivery, robust health and safety protocols, and detailed KPI reporting, catering to businesses capable of meeting high service standards and leveraging digital systems for operations management. Suppliers are encouraged to maximise value through continuous improvement efforts while adhering to industry regulations and standards.
