## Summary

The Police and Crime Commissioner for Leicestershire has awarded a contract for the "Violence Intervention Project (VIP)" to TURNING POINT, a large-scale supplier based in London. This contract is part of a tertiary intervention programme aimed at preventing repeat victimisation and offending among young people aged 11-25 by providing timely and tailored support in crucial settings such as police custody and A&E departments. The procurement process, classified under the "Social work and related services" industry category, has reached the award stage. The contract, valued at £348,000, was awarded on 26th March 2025, with the implementation period set to start on 8th April 2025 and conclude on 31st March 2026. Key activities under this contract will be delivered across various regions in the UK, including the East Midlands and London.

This tender creates significant opportunities for businesses specialising in social services and youth intervention programmes. Companies with expertise in engaging at-risk youth, particularly in pivotal moments such as those encountered in emergency and police custody settings, would be well-suited to this project. It offers a chance for businesses to expand their influence and impact by contributing to the reduction of serious violence, thus fostering safer communities. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) within the social services sector that can deliver evidence-informed, tailored support programmes could find this a valuable opportunity to collaborate with public authorities and expand their operations.
