## Summary

The NHS North Central London Integrated Care Board has confirmed the award of a contract for cancer screening services under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. This procurement process is in the services category, focusing on medical practice and related services. The contract, valued at £33,990, commenced on 1st April 2025 and is set to conclude on 31st March 2026, covering a term of one year with no extension options. The project is located in the London Boroughs of Haringey and Islington. This contract was awarded through a direct award process, with considerations relating to public health expertise and the involvement of local voluntary sector partners. Crucial dates include the formal award on 23rd April 2025, ensuring the timely commencement of cancer screening initiatives targeted at reducing health inequalities in high-deprivation communities.

The awarded contract presents significant opportunities for businesses engaged in medical practices and community health services. Companies specialising in public health interventions and outreach programmes can potentially benefit from this initiative, especially those with experience in engaging with minority ethnic communities and the voluntary sector. The project’s focus on awareness and prevention through community engagement adds value for businesses that can provide innovative solutions to improve access to health services and support early diagnosis. Businesses capable of collaborative working and delivering value for money will be well-positioned to succeed in similar future procurement opportunities, particularly as they align with the objectives of reducing health inequalities and facilitating choice in health access.
