## Summary

The North Yorkshire Council has awarded a contract titled "Young People's Pathway (Pathway 2) - 285-NYC-CD" aimed at providing services to vulnerable young people aged 18 to 25, including care leavers up to their 26th birthday. The procurement falls under the industry category of social work services, with a focus on housing support for young individuals at risk of homelessness. The award was made using an open procedure under the light-touch regime, with the procurement process leading to its completion on 10th February 2026. The project is set to be operational from 1st February 2026 to 31st January 2029, with potential extensions up to 2031. The initiative is allocated across various locations, including Hambleton, Harrogate, Richmondshire, Scarborough, and Selby, providing a total of 57 24/7 staffed accommodation units and 88 supported accommodation units.

This tender presents significant business growth opportunities, particularly for organisations specialised in social work and housing support services. Companies like Inspire North, which have been awarded the contract, serve as examples of large-scale operations suited to deliver such comprehensive services. The contract's division into multiple lots across different regions encourages participation from regionally based businesses and SMEs capable of meeting the specific demands in terms of staff support, housing experience, and the ability to secure Ofsted registrations where necessary. The contract offers potential for long-term collaboration and expansion through its renewal options, making it an attractive prospect for businesses looking to establish or solidify their presence in the social services sector.
