## Summary

The Ministry of Defence, through its agency Defence Equipment and Support, is undertaking an active procurement process for the servicing, maintenance, and repair capability of transportable X-Ray Cabins under project "X-Ray Cabins - PA 23". This tender, identified by code "ACDECA027", falls under the services industry category specifically focusing on non-destructive testing services. It is conducted via an open procedure, facilitating broad competition, and is based in the United Kingdom. The current stage is the tender phase, with key dates including the tender period ending on 20th July 2026, the enquiry period closing on 9th July 2026, and the award period concluding by 20th August 2026. The agreed contract is slated to start on 1st September 2026, emphasising the importance of compliance with regulations such as BS 7671 for electrical safety and LOLER for equipment handling.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in non-destructive testing, repair, and maintenance services, particularly those adept with military or defence-related equipment. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to apply, as the procurement process is open, potentially allowing newer market entrants to bid. Companies with ISO9001:2015 certification and experience in similar government or defence contracts may find themselves well-suited to compete for this contract, offering a chance for growth and establishing a presence in public sector procurement. The contract has options for annual renewals, extending up to five years, which can provide a stable business opportunity for the future.
