## Summary

The London Borough of Tower Hamlets has completed a public procurement process for the "HAR6114 School Decarbonisation Project - Cubitt Town, Bonner Mile End and Bangabandhu," focusing on architectural, construction, engineering, and inspection services. The project targets the decarbonisation of heating technologies at three school sites in London, UK. This process included appointments for a design team to manage stages from RIBA 2 to RIBA 7. The contract was effectively awarded to Retrofit Action for Tomorrow, valued at £420,000 with a total gross amount of £504,000. The procurement was conducted through an open procedure, following the Procurement Act 2023, observing a standstill period, and was finalised with an award on 7 November 2025. The project aligns with industry priorities of environmental sustainability and energy efficiency.

The tender represents an opportunity for businesses specialising in retrofit and renewable energy technologies to engage with public sector projects that adhere to environmental standards. Companies that are proficient in managing complex design and implementation processes across multiple phases would find this contract beneficial, potentially positioning them for further opportunities in sustainable public infrastructure projects. SMEs with capabilities in engineering and energy-efficient technologies, specifically within educational facilities, could leverage their expertise to achieve enhanced credibility and build partnerships with public sector entities like the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
