## Summary

The contracting process initiated by East Dunbartonshire Council concerns the project titled "EDC/2025/4238 - A807 Active Travel Corridor - Detailed Design & Client-Side Support." This procurement is classified under architectural, construction, engineering, and inspection services and is located between Torrance and Milngavie along the A807 road corridor (region UKM81). The procurement stage has reached the award phase, with the contract having been signed on 15th July 2025. The tender followed an open procedure, typically characterised by general access to any qualified bidder. Initially published as an active tender, the procurement process was focused on multi-disciplinary professional services required for detailed design and client-side support during the pre-construction and construction phases of the project.

This tender provides significant opportunities for business growth, particularly for firms with expertise in civil engineering consultancy and infrastructure works consultancy services. With a contract value of over £316,995, the procurement required a minimum yearly turnover of £600,000 for the past three years, ensuring that only established businesses could compete. Sweco UK Ltd., a large-scale supplier, has been engaged to fulfil these requirements. Furthermore, community benefits are incorporated into the procurement, promoting EDC's economic and social regeneration objectives. Businesses capable of delivering traffic signal design, topographical survey, drainage jet-vacuum and CCTV, and traffic count data services could benefit from subcontracting opportunities, enhancing their portfolio and market presence in the region.
