## Summary

The procurement process for the Specialised Commissioning Retained Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism Services (MHLDA) in the South West has been completed by NHS England. The contract focuses on the delivery of Mental Health Services for Deaf Children and Adolescents, commissioned through NHS Somerset Foundation Trust. Located in Somerset, the services fall under the health industry category, aiming to provide critical care on a multi-regional footprint. This procurement, awarded without prior publication, commenced on 1st April 2025, and will initially run for five years with an option to extend by up to two more years. The total initial contract value is estimated at £3,142,200, with an annual value of £628,440. This decision was made following the Direct Award Process A, as per the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for those businesses experienced in specialised healthcare services and catering to the needs of deaf children and adolescents. As the contract was awarded directly due to technical reasons, only the Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, deemed capable due to the absence of alternative or equivalent providers, secured this contract. Therefore, businesses with innovative service enhancement ideas or supplementary offerings could explore collaboration opportunities to support or complement the services being provided under this contract. The essential role in delivering specialised care positions the awarded contract as a vital part of broader MHLDA care pathways, offering substantial potential for associated healthcare sectors to engage with the service provider in a supportive capacity.
