## Summary

Digital Health & Care Wales, based in Cardiff, United Kingdom, is currently in the planning stage of the procurement process for an Integrated Care Record (ICR) system. This initiative falls under the industry categories of software packages, information systems, and IT services. It aims to ensure that patients and citizens have access to their health and care information, regardless of its origin, while adhering to data protection regulations. The market engagement process, which is part of the preliminary planning phase, involves potential suppliers obtaining and submitting a Request for Information (RFI) by 21st May 2025. This stage is crucial for assessing product availability and shaping the procurement strategy before any further developments or awards are decided.

The opportunity presents considerable potential for businesses specialising in digital health solutions, software development, and IT consulting. Suppliers with robust offerings in information systems and those able to address the rigorous demands of data protection and information sharing are well-suited to engage in this process. Participating in this market engagement allows businesses to position themselves advantageously for future procurement phases, potentially leading to significant contracts. Smaller firms with niche solutions, as well as larger entities with a wide range of IT services, could find participating in the RFI process beneficial for aligning their offerings with the evolving requirements of NHS Wales.
