## Summary

The procurement process conducted by the NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership-Procurement Services, hosted by Velindre University NHS Trust, focused on the "Individual Placement Support" contract within the Health and Social Work Services industry. This initiative, classified under CPV 85000000, aims to continue a specialist employment service for adults with disabilities, including those with mild to moderate health conditions and mental health issues, through a collaboration with Mind Pembrokeshire for the year 2025-2026. The service is part of a pilot initiative funded by the Welsh Government and the Department for Work and Pensions. The contract, valued at £500,000 and awarded on 1st April 2025, supports areas including Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, and Pembrokeshire, and is undertaken through a limited procurement method without prior publication of a call for competition. This procurement process is currently in the "award" stage, with the status marked as active.

This tender creates significant opportunities for SMEs, particularly those with expertise in supporting individuals with mental health challenges or health conditions who are striving for sustainable employment. Businesses that have established networks with local employers or have experience coordinating with DWP partners across the specified regions would be well-positioned to benefit from this contract. The service requirements include adhering to the eight key principles of Individual Placement Support, which underscores the need for holistic, supportive, and rapid engagement with potential employees and employers. By enhancing existing employer networks and cultivating new relationships, businesses can harness this opportunity to contribute to an essential support service aimed at improving health and workforce engagement in the community.
