## Summary

Leicester City Council is currently in the planning stage for the "Day Opportunities Services" procurement process. This initiative aims to provide a comprehensive range of day activities and support services to enhance individuals' independence and relieve family carers. Classified under the health and social work services industry category, this procurement is intended to serve the public in the UKF21 region in Leicester, United Kingdom. Notably, the procurement follows the "light touch" regime procedure, with an estimated joint contract value of £42,780,000. Although the tender has not been published as a call for competition yet, potential suppliers can expect further notice by 1st August 2027, with service delivery anticipated from 1st April 2028 through 31st March 2031, and it may extend to as far as 31st March 2034.

This opportunity offers significant growth potential, particularly for SMEs (Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises) and VCSEs (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprises) that specialise in health and social work services. The contract's joint funding by Leicester City Council and the Integrated Care Board (ICB) indicates a strong commitment to enhancing community services. Businesses equipped to provide innovative day services that promote health, wellbeing, and family support could find lucrative opportunities in this tender. Engaging in this procurement process allows businesses to contribute to social outcomes, reduce dependency on statutory services, and combat social isolation while establishing a foothold in a government-funded project. Business contenders are encouraged to prepare for future engagement by registering early on the Central Digital Platform, Find a Tender Service, to seize this strategic avenue for growth.

## Notice

It is intended to provide the forecast of the impending procurement opportunity in line with Section 93 of the Procurement Act 2023, but may be amended after publication. There is no guarantee that a tender opportunity will result from this notice and neither does it commit the Council to procuring any contract. However, should a tender opportunity materialise, further detailed notice(s) would be published in line with the Council's obligations. At this stage, no input is required from potential Suppliers, and no further details are available on this opportunity. Furthermore, in preparation for any imminent opportunities, Suppliers are encouraged to register on the Central Digital Platform (Find a Tender Service: https://signin.account.gov.uk/sign-in-or-create). The aim of Day Opportunities Services is to improve and maintain people's health and wellbeing and maximise their potential for independence. The services give family carers a break and help prevent carer breakdown. Services directly contribute to strategic objectives which include reducing dependency on statutory services, delaying and reducing the need for care and support, reducing social isolation and loneliness and helping to identify local resources that people can access directly without the need for assessment or referral via the Council. This is a Jointly funded contract by Leicester City Council and ICB.
