Participation in preliminary market engagement exercises is encouraged for interested suppliers. ## Notice The Furnished Home Scheme supports new Council tenants who are unable to furnish their homes due to personal or financial circumstances. The scheme provides essential furniture and appliances to eligible and low-income new tenants. The scheme helps to promote sustainable tenancies, contributes towards preventing homelessness and supports a smooth transition for tenants moving into their new home. The aim of the scheme is to help new council tenants on low incomes 'make a house a home' by giving customers the opportunity to lease essential items. The scheme provides customers with a choice of essential furniture, appliances and white goods options, with customer orders ranging from one to fourteen items. As well as the provision of items for new customers, the scheme also enables existing customers to request replacement items where there is evidence of 'wear and tear', unintentional damage or manufacture fault (outside of warranty). There are currently approximately 5900 customers on the Furnished Scheme - expanding from 4500 within the last 2 years. A "one-stop" furniture and appliances provision service is required with all items ordered by Furnished Homes being delivered to the Furnished Homes warehouse on a specified delivery date. Rotherham Furnished Homes will place weekly orders to ensure stock levels are well maintained, helping to ensure the service achieves its performance indicator of 5 working days from date of order received to delivery and installation of items. Items required include wardrobes, sofas, single and double bed bases, washing machines,electric cookers, fridge freezers and dining tables. ### Planning Information Engagement in this Preliminary Market Engagement (PME) is via a questionnaire published on YORtender. Submissions to be returned via the YORtender portal by 17:00 on 30th May 2025.
