## Summary

The Education Authority (EA) has announced a modification to its contract for Vehicle Maintenance and Repairs Services in East Tyrone, originally awarded as contract TRN-23-010. Following unforeseen delays in the procurement process, EA proposes a further 3-month extension from 01 July 2025 to 30 September 2025, totalling an additional £69,700 to the existing contract value, revising it to £278,800. This contract amendment ensures continued service provision for EA vehicles in the UKN region under the relevant legislative standards. The procurement stage is in the realm of a contract update, focusing on services classified under CPV code 50000000, which includes repair and maintenance services.

This extension presents avenues for businesses specializing in vehicle maintenance and repair services to participate indirectly by understanding the operational standards and expectations set by EA. It is strategically suited for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) capable of ensuring compliance with UK and EU regulations and maintaining high levels of vehicle roadworthiness. Companies like Loughshore Autos, trading as Quinns Coach Hire Ltd, already engaged in such services, exemplify the potential for business growth through familiarization with the procurement framework and potential future tender opportunities during the anticipated re-tender phase in May 2025. The procurement process emphasises quality in service delivery, business continuity, contract management, and cost-effectiveness, providing a competitive landscape for well-positioned enterprises.
