## Summary

The procurement process titled "SVRP Port Infrastructure Works" is managed by Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL), a public body located in Port Glasgow, United Kingdom. The procurement falls under the industry category of "Construction work for water projects" and is classified as a "works" project. It involves port infrastructure enabling and electrical works to support the deployment of new all-electric vessels across several ports. The procurement is currently in the planning stage, with a future notice date set for 31st July 2025. This project is part of the Small Vessel Replacement Programme, aimed at reducing carbon emissions. Works will be conducted in locations such as Colintraive, Portavadie, and others within the UKM region.

This tender presents substantial growth opportunities for businesses specialising in construction, particularly those with experience in harbour construction, dredging, electrical infrastructure, and piling works. Environmental sustainability and advancements in maritime technology are key components, making it ideal for enterprises with expertise in green technologies and civil engineering. Firms capable of delivering infrastructure to accommodate all-electric ferries at existing ferry terminals could find this an auspicious entry point into maritime infrastructure projects. Given the scale and impact of the project, it is well-suited to medium to large construction companies looking to expand their portfolios in the maritime sector or target eco-friendly initiatives.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

The Small Vessel Replacement Programme (SVRP) is part of the broader Vessel Replacement and Deployment Programme (VRDP) initiated by Transport Scotland. The VRDP identified eight smaller vessels that were either beyond or approaching 30 years in service and close to the end of their operational life. The main objective of the SVRP is to provide new all-electric vessels for operation by Caledonian MacBrayne Ferries Ltd (CalMac) on multiple routes. The SVRP is expected to deliver a substantial reduction in carbon emissions compared to the older vessels being replaced, indicating a commitment by CMAL to environmental sustainability. CMAL own seven ports included in the SVRP Phase 1 Vessel Deployment of which four are overnight berths: - Colintraive - Fishnish - Lochaline - Largs - Portavadie - Tobermory - Kilchoan Port Infrastructure enabling and electrical works are required at the above listed ports to accommodate and facilitate charging the new fully electric vessels and to improve compatibility against the existing ferry terminal facilities.
