## Summary

The public procurement process led by Rhondda Cynon Taf CBC concerns a tender entitled "Supported Accommodation for Homeless, Complex Single People 24/7 high level support". This initiative falls under the services category and is targeted towards accommodation services within the Welsh region (UKL15). Recently awarded to "Codi Care and Support", the contract process follows an open procurement method under the light-touch regime. Codi Care will commence service provision from 31st May 2026, with a potential contract extension option up to 2032. The procurement stage has evolved from the planning phase initiated in May 2025, progressing through the tender and subsequently to the award stage by April 2026. The emphasis is on alleviating homelessness with structured support systems and involves two lots: Abertonllwyd House in Treherbert and Martins Close in Abercynon.

This contract offers significant opportunities for business growth, particularly for organisations focused on social services and accommodation. By partaking in this project, businesses can contribute to local community welfare and align with public service missions. Although it attracted bids primarily from large organisations like Codi Care and Support, SMEs with capabilities in personalised, high-level accommodation services could leverage such opportunities in future tenders. Collaborative engagements with local housing, healthcare, and social care agencies enhance the project's holistic approach, fostering long-term partnerships and service innovation within the social housing sector.
