## Summary

The Informal Carers Support Service tender, initiated by Cornwall Council, is currently in the planning stage. The initiative targets the health and social work services industry and is aimed at supporting the informal caring community within the Cornwall region, UK. Scheduled to commence on 1st July 2026 and conclude on 30th June 2029, with a potential extension until 2033, this procurement process follows a 'light-touch' regime and exceeds the established procurement threshold, ensuring compliance with the Procurement Regulations 2024. The council invites engagement from organisations until September 2025 through a series of workshops designed to refine the recommissioning approach. The market engagement deadlines include a key date of 30th September 2025, and interested parties should reach out via the Council’s e-tendering system.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in health and social work services, particularly those experienced in supporting carers. Organisations that actively engage in community support and have expertise in developing strategies for carer identification will find this procurement particularly beneficial for business growth and expansion. By participating in the market engagement workshops, businesses can influence the planning process and potentially secure a long-term partnership with Cornwall Council in delivering critical support services. The emphasis on understanding market interest and gathering insights suggests a fertile ground for innovation and strategic input from diverse service providers, making it ideal for businesses keen on expanding their footprint in the public sector.
