## Summary

The procurement process is being organised by Bath & North East Somerset Council for a Care Home Flexible Framework Contract for Adults. The procurement is currently in the planning stage with a preliminary market engagement notice published. The initiative focuses on the provision of services in the UKK12 region, with a total estimated value of £600 million targeting residential nursing care services. Key engagement activities will occur from mid-May until the end of August 2026, with a contract period commencing from 1st April 2027 to 31st March 2033, potentially extending to 2037. Interested providers should contact the council by 31st August 2026 for further details, with the next notices expected around early September 2026.

This tender presents significant opportunities for business growth, particularly for SMEs and VCSEs specialising in care services. The framework is designed to address increasing demands for dementia care and other complex needs, offering lucrative prospects for providers with expertise in residential and nursing settings. This initiative supports a home-first and prevention-led approach within the care sector. Businesses that can demonstrate high-quality, person-centred care while ensuring financial sustainability and innovation in care services will be well-suited to compete for this contract. Additionally, this procurement includes opportunities for co-production and engagement with the council, allowing businesses to influence future care specifications.
