## Summary

The public procurement process for "Target Hardening - Peterborough" is led by Peterborough City Council and falls under the services category with a focus on security equipment and services. Despite its recent cancellation, the tender was integral to supporting victims of domestic abuse through effective security measures in their residences around Peterborough. Initially active with a substantial value of £315,000, the tender followed an open procurement method. The contract was set to begin in October 2025, with required submissions by the end of July 2025. This process forms part of a broader statutory duty under the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 to ensure victims have access to safe accommodation.

While the tender has been cancelled, opportunities for businesses specialising in security hardware, installation, and maintenance would have been significant, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to community safety and welfare. Companies experienced in servicing the public sector, especially those knowledgeable about compliance with British Standards for security, were ideally suited for this project. This procurement process underscores the importance of security services in vulnerable settings, presenting ongoing opportunities for businesses in future public safety and domestic security tenders. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary sector enterprises were particularly encouraged to engage, highlighting a commitment to diverse supplier participation.
