## Summary

Lancashire County Council is currently in the planning stage of a tender for the Lancashire Carers Assessment and Support Service. This procurement focuses on health and social work services and aims to fulfil statutory obligations in supporting both adult and young carers across Lancashire, United Kingdom. The engagement exercise includes the dissemination of feedback through an online questionnaire, with submission deadlines set for 7th April 2026. The procurement method has been identified as a competitive flexible procedure, with the planned contract period commencing on 1st April 2027 and concluding on 31st March 2030. Organisations that meet the criteria for SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) and VCSEs (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprises) are encouraged to engage in this process to contribute to the service redesign and future tendering activities.

This tender presents considerable opportunities for businesses looking to expand into the health and social services sector, particularly those with expertise in carers' support services. It offers a significant contract value and the chance to be instrumental in shaping the county's approach to carers' services, ensuring alignment with the Carers Strategy. SMEs and VCSEs specialising in health and social work services are well-positioned to compete, thanks to favourable conditions that support smaller enterprises. Participation in the early market engagement can offer valuable insights into upcoming requirements, thus enabling businesses to develop tailored service offerings that meet the future needs of Lancashire County Council's carers' support initiatives.
