## Summary

First Greater Western Limited (GWR) is currently in the tender stage for the procurement titled "GWR - Defibrillation Device Supply, Install and Maintenance." The procurement involves the provision of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) across the GWR network, including on trains and within depot/station facilities. This tender is classified under the private utility sector, with specific classifications related to surveillance and security systems. The contract is valued at £360,000 gross with a contract period extending from 2nd February 2026 to 1st February 2029, and the opportunity for renewal is possible. The submission deadline is set for 27th October 2025, and the procurement method is through an open competition aside from being below the threshold.

The procurement process offers significant opportunities for businesses, especially those specialising in medical equipment supply, installation services of medical and surgical equipment, and remote monitoring systems. With the engagement of SMEs encouraged, this tender could catalyse growth for companies able to demonstrate robust financial, legal, and technical capability. GWR is interested in suppliers who can ensure reliable and effective life-saving equipment, offering not only goods but also comprehensive maintenance services and technical support. Businesses meeting these conditions can gain a strategic advantage in securing long-term relationships and potential future contracts with GWR or subsequent operators.
