## Summary

Suffolk County Council is inviting tenders for the operation of a dual placement (2-bed) residential children's home geared towards Suffolk children in care aged 12-17 years, including those aged 17. This opportunity fits within the health and social work services industry and is located within the UKH14 region of the United Kingdom. The procurement is at the active tender stage, with submissions to be completed by 9th July 2026 at 11:00 am. Prospective bidders are requested to submit any clarification questions by 24th June 2026 at 11:59 pm. The bidding process follows an open competitive flexible procedure and requires adherence to specific conditions of participation, which include a robust evaluation of technical quality, charges, and social value.

This tender offers an excellent opportunity for businesses specialising in providing care for young people with complex needs to engage in a project that could establish long-term contracts under public sector guidelines. The advertised contract value of £4,200,000 provides a significant business opportunity, especially for SMEs and VCSEs that can demonstrate strong organisational standards and experience in managing children’s homes. To be competitive, businesses should ensure Ofsted compliance, a 'Good' rating or above for existing homes, and requisite insurance coverage, making this an ideal proposition for those with a focus on therapeutic and trauma-informed care models. Furthermore, with a potential renewal extending the contract by up to 12 months, successful providers could look forward to an expanded engagement with Suffolk County Council.
