## Summary

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) in London is in the planning stage for a procurement titled "DHSC: OLS: Flagship Research Leadership Scheme Administration". This project falls under the industry category of administration services, project management consultancy, and related business services, and will be implemented across the United Kingdom. The scheme aims to administer a career development fund supporting research training in the addiction healthcare sector. The procurement process is currently at the planning stage, with a milestone due on 6th June 2025 for engagement purposes. The scheme is set to commence on 18th August 2025 and is expected to last until 17th August 2028, with potential extensions until August 2031. A total contract value of £7,000,000 has been allocated, and the process is open to SMEs and VCSEs, indicating a focus on inclusive participation.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in administration, project management, auditing, and marketing services to contribute to advancing the UK's leadership in addiction healthcare research. Companies with expertise in collaborating with academic institutions and a track record in project management and consulting will find this opportunity particularly aligned to their strengths. Given the scheme's emphasis on supporting both NHS and Third Sector initiatives, businesses capable of integrating innovative solutions into the healthcare landscape will be well-suited to compete. Engaging in this procurement process could solidify a business's position in the public sector and contribute to long-term growth through the development of pioneering healthcare strategies.

## Notice

The Addiction Healthcare Goals (AHG) programme, led by the Office for Life Sciences, is aiming to make the UK a place where researchers and industry in addiction healthcare can thrive and partner effectively with NHS and Third Sector treatment providers to design, research and deploy innovative treatments and technologies which effectively tackle the challenges of drug and alcohol addictions, saving and improving the lives of those affected, and reducing the harms to the individual, their family and friends, and wider society. One key area of focus for the AHG programme to fulfil this aim is to grow UK-wide research leadership capacity to develop and deploy innovations. The Department is looking for a supplier that is able to administer a targeted research leadership career development scheme to award funding to individuals to commence or continue training and career development towards becoming national research leaders.
