## Summary

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), based in London, is currently in the planning stage of a significant initiative concerning men's health. This involves market engagement for collaborating with various sectors in support of England's inaugural Men's Health Strategy. The effort is aimed at addressing male health issues, especially relating to conditions like heart disease, cancer, and type 2 diabetes. Interested organisations are invited to submit proposals detailing potential collaborative opportunities by 7 August 2025. Key dates in this initiative include a ministerial roundtable held on 4 June 2025, with a deadline set for proposal submissions.

This initiative represents an excellent opportunity for businesses associated with healthcare, particularly those within the voluntary, community, and social enterprise sectors, as well as private entities focused on improving health outcomes. Businesses that can offer scalable community programmes, financial support, or innovative health service solutions are well-positioned to benefit from this collaboration invitation. This tender offers a chance for businesses to expand their influence and contribute to positive societal change by tackling challenges like low health literacy and barriers to health service access among men. Expressions of interest are encouraged from parties aiming to invest resources or expertise towards enhancing health and wellbeing in their communities.

## Notice

DHSC is seeking expressions of interest from organisations in the voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) and private sectors to collaborate in support of England's first Men's Health Strategy. DHSC is especially interested in collaborating on scalable community initiatives that improve early help-seeking, health literacy, and preventative use of health services - especially for conditions like cardiovascular disease, poor mental health (including suicide prevention), and cancer - to improve the health and wellbeing of men and boys.

### Planning Information

Purpose of this Notice To support the publication of England’s inaugural men’s health strategy, the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is interested in exploring collaboration opportunities with stakeholders from the voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) and private sectors to improve men’s health outcomes. Men are disproportionately affected by conditions like heart disease, cancer, and type 2 diabetes—and 3 in 4 suicides in 2023 were men. Yet they're also less likely to seek support: for instance, men were 25% less likely than women to get a heart health check between 2012-2017. This is because men face many barriers to accessing, engaging, and having a positive experience with health and support services. Following the ministerial roundtable hosted by DHSC on Wednesday, June 4th, 2025, DHSC is now seeking expressions of interest from organisations in the voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) and private sectors to collaborate in support of England’s first Men’s Health Strategy. DHSC is especially interested in collaborating on scalable community initiatives that improve early help-seeking, health literacy, and preventative use of health services – especially for conditions like cardiovascular disease, poor mental health (including suicide prevention), and cancer – to improve the health and wellbeing of men and boys. This notice is an invitation to partner with us and contribute to innovative, impactful solutions. Scope We recognise that addressing the complex challenges surrounding men’s health requires collaboration across sectors. We are asking interested parties to submit the attached form detailing their proposed offer of collaboration. We are especially interested in funding support and/or initiatives focusing on addressing barriers to men’s access to, engagement and/or positive experience with the health system. We are open to a range of partnership models and are particularly interested in contributions that may include: • Financial or in-kind support • Donations of goods or services • Joint public awareness campaigns • Access to networks, data, or expertise • Other innovative resources or approaches This market engagement is looking to explore collaboration opportunities. It is not a public procurement procedure, and it will not result in the award of a “public contract” within the meaning of the Procurement Act 2023. We are seeking joint initiatives that deliver outcomes which increase the scale or would not otherwise occur, without this collaboration. How to Participate Interested organisations are invited to complete the Collaboration Questionnaire linked here: https://forms.office.com/e/P3F6HWSAjf Further guidance on how to complete the questionnaire can be downloaded from the link here: https://atamis-1928.my.salesforce.com/sfc/p/0O000000rwim/a/Sr0000010tvB/9L7ZxIomuDo3jVEE18UOy9ovzn5d7aoQgaFz2_whiRo or accessed via the Atamis portal here: https://atamis-1928.my.salesforce-sites.com/ProSpend__CS_ContractPage?SearchType=Projects&uid=a07Sr00000aKYNuIAO&searchStr=&sortStr=Recently+Published&page=1&filters=&County=. The deadline for submission is 12:00pm on 07/08/2025. Contact and Communications All communications regarding this notice should be directed to: menshealthengagement@dhsc.gov.uk. To Note This notice is a market engagement exercise to seek partners for a strategic health collaboration. It does not constitute a call for competition, nor does it commit the government to any future public procurement or contractual relationship. Since this is neither a call for competition nor a procurement, it’s been assigned a nominal monetary value of £1. Participation is voluntary and non-binding.
