## Summary

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership-Procurement Services, hosted by Velindre University NHS Trust, is in the planning stage of a procurement process for the "Ty Cynnal Support House" project. This procurement seeks to identify suitable organisations to provide mental health support services in Gwent, Wales. The project aims to offer short-term crisis accommodation as an alternative to hospital admission for adults experiencing acute mental health crises, including those with mild learning disabilities. The contract, which falls under both health and social work services, is expected to be valued around £1,948,848 gross and is slated for a procurement announcement on 5th January 2026, with the contract period beginning on 1st April 2026 and ending on 31st August 2026.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in mental health support services, particularly those with expertise in crisis accommodation and rehabilitation. Organisations that fit the criteria of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) or voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSEs) are particularly encouraged to participate. The focus on providing a high-quality, supportive environment using a social model of recovery aligns well with businesses that pride themselves on offering holistic, community-centred approaches to health and social care. The project promises not only financial growth potential but also the chance to contribute to a meaningful social impact in the region.
