## Summary

The procurement process titled "Anti-embolism Stockings, Compression Devices & Accessories & Lymphoedema Products" involves the buying organisation NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), which is a national agency operating within the health sector. This tender, classified under the industry category of medical consumables, aims to supply goods across the UK region. Initially signed on 11th November 2019, the procurement follows a limited method without prior publication due to unforeseen circumstances—modifications were necessary to extend the contract from 11th November 2024 to 10th November 2025 to meet additional demands resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic. The procurement stage is complete, moving to the contract award stage, with active participation from multiple suppliers. The contract holds a value of £9,382,220.

This tender offers significant business growth opportunities, especially for enterprises specialising in medical supplies and equipment, such as those producing anti-embolism and compression stockings. Large-scale suppliers like Arjo UK Ltd, Urgo Limited, and others who are already successful bidders represent the types of businesses well-suited to compete in this market. The demand for compression therapy products presents a lucrative opportunity for companies able to meet the stringent health sector requirements and provide reliable deliveries across the UK. Businesses seeking partnerships with NHS bodies through framework agreements can benefit substantially from engaging in such public procurement processes.

## Notice

Provision of Anti Embolism Stockings (Non Mechanical) for NHSS. Compression stockings are a specialised hosiery designed to help prevent the occurrence of, and guard against further progression of, venous disorders such as edema, phlebitis and thrombosis. Compression stockings are elastic garments worn around the leg, compressing the limb. This reduces the diameter of distended veins and increases venous blood flow velocity and valve effectiveness. Compression therapy helps decrease venous pressure, prevents venous stasis and impairments of venous walls, and relieves heavy and aching legs.
