## Summary

The procurement process for the "Digitisation of Speed and Red Light Cameras" is currently in the planning stage and led by Gateshead Borough Council in collaboration with the Northumbria Road Safety Partnership (NRSP). The initiative seeks solutions for updating approximately 45 spot speed cameras and 20 red light cameras within the Northumberland Police force area with modern digital alternatives. This project falls under the traffic-monitoring industry category and is located across regions classified as UKC2 in the United Kingdom. Key dates include a due date for market engagement on the 3rd of June, 2025. The official notice was published on the 19th of May, 2025, with an expected contract period from 28th November, 2025, to 27th November, 2028. The procurement method is classified as goods, with a gross value of £180,000.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses in the traffic-monitoring and control equipment sectors, particularly those capable of providing state-of-the-art digital camera solutions. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate as the procurement process accommodates such businesses. Companies specialising in traffic safety technology, control equipment, or related services may find this opportunity well-suited to their capabilities. Collaborating with councils and the NRSP provides a strategic avenue for businesses to expand their market reach within public safety sectors in the UK.
