## Summary

The London Borough of Lambeth is in the planning stage of its public procurement process concerning the "Dimming and Trimming Streetlighting" project, focusing on street lighting control and management solutions. The aim is to implement a central control system for 14,000 lighting columns using sensor devices to allow remote management in real-time, intending to reduce carbon emissions and energy costs. The industry category includes installation services for lighting and related equipment. This planned procurement, with an estimated budget of £3.2 million, is expected to proceed through an open procedure with tender invitations anticipated in July-August 2025, targeting a contract period from 1st October 2025 to September 2027. Key engagement activities are scheduled from 9th to 25th June 2025, allowing suppliers to express interest and participate in market engagement processes.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses in the electrical and mechanical installation sectors, particularly those specialised in street lighting and control systems. Companies adept at providing environmentally friendly solutions for urban infrastructure could benefit considerably by engaging in the preliminary market discussions, helping shape procurement strategies and addressing operational challenges. The procurement is suitable for SMEs, potentially allowing smaller firms to compete effectively. This initiative offers a platform for businesses to showcase innovative solutions focused on energy efficiency and sustainability, facilitating industry growth and the advancement of smart lighting technologies in urban settings.

## Notice

A Central control system, and relevant assets to allow for Lambeth's lighting stock (14,000 columns) to be fitted with sensor devices to allow for remote control/management of lighting infrastructure in real time, which will enable the authority to reduce luminance (Dim) on its lighting columns thus minimising Co2 emissions and energy costs.
