## Summary

The UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) initiated a procurement process for the design, supply, and installation of SGT Blast Air Coolers, intended to update older infrastructure at the Culham Science Centre in Oxfordshire. The procurement, identified under the tender ID T/ET052/25, fell under the industry category of cooling and ventilation equipment, with an active status at the tender stage. Initially announced on 20th May 2025, this process followed an open procedure, allowing interested parties to submit tenders until 27th June 2025. Despite being planned meticulously, the procurement process was eventually recorded as completed and the tender was cancelled on 29th July 2025 due to bids not meeting the necessary criteria set by UKAEA.

This tender presents significant potential for businesses involved in electrical installation, mechanical installations, and manufacturing of cooling systems, particularly those capable of bringing innovative technological solutions to the table. Companies that are classified as SMEs or VCSEs were also considered suitable, showing UKAEA's inclination towards fostering growth among smaller entities. Participating in such tenders can offer businesses opportunities to establish a foothold within public sector contracts, expand their portfolio, and build substantial commercial relationships within the central government procurement landscape. Although the process was ultimately not awarded, similar future opportunities could arise, providing further chances for business growth and competitive advantage.

UKAEA has not done any further premarket engagement for this requirement.
