As part of the tender which is in the active stage, companies are invited to submit their proposals through Transport for London's online e-Tendering Platform by 10 April 2026, 17:00pm. The total contract value is set at a gross amount of £3,879,049 GBP, with the procurement focusing on works pertaining to firefighting equipment installation. The engagement process previously involved a market engagement exercise to shape procurement strategy effectively. ## Notice Transport for London (TfL) will be issuing a Tender for the Design and Build of Depot Fire Hydrants, at 2 depots which are Queens Park Sidings and Triangle Sidings. An MSQ was published on the 05/11/2025, with the procurement identifier (OCID): ocds-h6vhtk-051a98 which obtained market feedback and supplier appetite, capability and capacity. TfL selected the suppliers who engaged and expressed an interest for the Tender Stage. The results from the findings were used to help shape the procurement strategy. The purpose of the contract is for the design and build of Depot Fire Hydrants at 2 locations listed above whilst ensuring value for money. The currently installed hydrant systems at certain depots do not meet current regulations and British Standards (BS) due to the age of the systems, so an upgrade is required as the readings at the locations tested were below the levels stipulated in BS and TfL standards. In case of a fire, the system is unable to supply water at the required pressure and flow rate to extinguish fires. The requirement of the procurement is to appoint a principal contractor to undertake works to ensure that fire hydrant systems at the 2 locations are fully operable, in good working condition and in full compliance with relevant safety legislations associated with the hydrant system - BS and TFL standards. Please note the value published at MSQ has reduced as the business descoped (North Shed of Queens Park) part of the works to be carried out. ### Lot Information Lot 1 Renewal: The term of the draft contract is for an initial one (1) year and six (6) months with the option to extend by a further period of up to twelve 12 months at TfL's sole discretion. ### Planning Information TfL invites suppliers to participate in this Preliminary Market Engagement exercise by expressing their interest in this procurement and completing a Market Survey Questionnaire (MSQ). All feedback received will be treated confidentially and will help to shape the upcoming procurement opportunity (subject to the Freedom of Information Act) Information on the engagement process and the procurement can be found in MSQ documents which will be forwarded to interested suppliers via SAP Ariba. TfL's e-sourcing platform. TfL reserve the right to change our procurement approach. The engagement process consists of the following key steps: registering Interest - 1. Register under RISQS RICCL codes C.D.3.7: Protective Installations (Including fire protective systems) / Supply. on/before Friday 21 November 2025. This activity is focusing on the market, rather than the merits of individual suppliers. It includes no element of supplier selection or bid evaluation. There is no commitment of any kind inferred by either party. The MSQ will remain open until 17.00hrs on Friday 21 November on TfL's SAP Ariba e-tendering portal. Once TfL receives confirmation of interest from prospective participants the MSQ document and the Technical Requirements Specification (TRS) be available to them on TfL's SAP Ariba e-tendering system.
