## Summary

The Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S), a central government authority located at Welsh Road, Flintshire, UK, is overseeing a procurement process for the supply of Remote Video Viewing Aids (RVVA) or Industrial Borescopes. This tender, under OCID "ocds-h6vhtk-051cac," is in the "tenderUpdate" stage with updates last recorded on 26th June 2026. The procurement falls under the services industry category and is conducted through an open procurement method. The deadline for submissions is 4th August 2026, with a view to award by 18th September 2026. This project, valued at £9.3 million gross, will support the Ministry of Defence's aircraft maintenance and repair operations by replacing obsolete equipment with new RVVAs, including a maintenance and training package. The submission must be made electronically in English via the Defence Sourcing Portal (DSP).

This tender represents a strategic business development opportunity, particularly for companies specializing in non-destructive testing services and the supply and maintenance of testing and measurement apparatus. SMEs are encouraged to participate, given the suitability criteria outlined. The contract includes an initial duration from 1st October 2026 to 30th September 2031, with potential extensions of two additional option years. Businesses equipped to deliver high-quality, technically robust solutions while offering competitive pricing are well-positioned to benefit from this government contract. Adherence to standards such as ISO9001-2015 will be a factor in the selection process, aligning with the project's focus on technical and quality benchmarks.

## Notice

Deca on behalf of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has a requirement to maintain a Remote Video Viewing Aids [RVVA] / Industrial Borescope capability, for use by Inspection, Testing and Repair Teams for aircraft maintenance and repair operations. The RVVA inventory estimated at 360 units has been rendered obsolete by the manufacturers and suppliers. Consequently, this equipment will no longer be supported post March 2026. Therefore, there is an emerging requirement to procure new replacement RVVA, together with a maintenance and training support package, in order to maintain an RVVA capability. https://contracts.mod.uk/go/90593881019E97175234
