## Summary

The procurement process led by Supply Chain Coordination Limited for a male intra-urethral catheter with a magnet-controlled valve has reached the award stage. This procurement was conducted under a direct award method and concluded due to technical reasons. Ingenion Medical Limited has been selected to supply the goods after showing its unique capability in the sector. Based in London, UK, the contracting process was initiated on 30 June 2025 with a planned contract period from 18 August 2025 to 20 February 2028. The industry category is medical goods, specifically catheters. The framework agreement allows NHS Supply Chain, NHS trusts, other NHS entities, government departments, and statutory bodies throughout the UK healthcare sector to procure these supplies.

This tender presents significant business opportunities, especially for SMEs such as Ingenion Medical Limited, which specialise in medical devices and equipment. Companies with expertise in developing innovative medical technologies may find this tender beneficial, given its focus on magnetic control catheters and the prospect of supplying a device designed for user-centric care management. Additionally, businesses that are adept in navigating the healthcare sector’s logistics and supply chain demands could leverage the framework agreement to access a network of NHS entities and other related organisations. Participation in such tender processes can pave the way for sustained growth and diversification into specialised healthcare solutions.

## Notice

A male intraurethral catheter with a magnet controlled valve: A device that primarily consists of an internal urethral catheter with an incorporated magnetically-controlled valve designed to manage urinary continence. The catheter is fully inserted into the urethra/bladder thus having no external tubing. Urine flow is controlled by use of an external magnet used intermittently to open/close the catheter and enable voiding of urine on demand. It is intended to be managed by the patient/layperson at home. This is a single-patient device intended to be left in situ short-term (up to 30 days) before being discarded [single-use] and replaced. Magnet Control Device: A non-powered, non-invasive, external magnetic device designed to open/close the magnetically-controlled valve of an in situ male intraurethral catheter.
